Compliance with Regulatory Reform

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Safety Order (2005) reformed the law relating to fire safety in non-domestic premises. This legislation applies to all non-domestic premises with only a small list of exemptions. There is a requirement to identify Duty Holders in relation to the premises, who will be responsible for fire safety duties, fire risk assessment and recording significant hazards.

Although you can conduct a fire risk assessment yourself using standard fire safety risk assessment guides, if don’t have the expertise or time you will need to appoint a ‘competent person’ to help.

Tawsa can help you understand your legal responsibilities under the new order, our advisors will work with you and your responsible person/s within your business to assist with risk reduction and legislation compliance.
